Elected Mayor of the Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension borough in 2005, Anie Samson was previously a Councillor in the Villeray district of the borough. Elected for the first time in 1994, Anie Samson holds a master's degree in communication and a bachelor's degree in political science. Throughout her time in municipal politics, Anie Samson has held several positions: Associate Councillor at the Mayor's office, Responsible for the implementation of the Éco-quartier program and citizen engagement; founding President of the comité consultatif d’urbanisme in the district, founding member of the Montréal Mayor's Foundation for Youth, and Leader of the Official Opposition.

• Extend the bicycle path network, emphasizing east-west lines

• Make Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension a green borough throughout its 3 districts
